About
C-Console VS-1680 |
|
|
|
When the beta version was introduced at NAMM in February of 2000, C-Console VS-1680 dropped the jaws of the Roland crew, reinforcing our belief that this could well be the most useful VS-1680 accessory since Roland's optional CD burner. With automatic storage and retrieval of last/best configurations, fully automated MIDI-controllable mixing and fast, comfortable access to virtually every VS-1680 feature (full effects control as of version 1.4), owners will discover whole new levels of creativity and productivity when C-Console takes the helm. C-Console VS-1680 features the same MIDI-controllable automated mixing, flexible input options, "easy-chair" interfaces and remote user control features as all other C-Console products. It puts you in the driver's seat with a new level of control over the mixer and recorder, and a new feeling of confidence that comes from working with solid, comfortable, professional tools. Best
of all, you can start mixing today knowing that your work is safe and
forward-compatible. VS-1680 data recorded by C-Console will be parameter-for-parameter
compatible with the newer VS-1880. |

IBM PC, P-133 level CPU or newer |
200MHz CPU recommended; 266MHz CPU recommended for configurations using hard disk recorders or software synthesizers |
|
Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 |
Windows 98 (multiple monitor support in Win98 dramatically enhances efficiency when used with C-Console) |
|
32MB system RAM |
64MB system RAM for use with most software synthesizers, 128MB system RAM minimum for hard disk recording or sampling on the same PC as C-Console; 256MB recommended. |
|
10MB free disk space |
A dedicated partition, or preferably a dedicated hard disk rated at 7200rpm or higher, used solely for audio/MIDI applications. Performance often increases substantially when booting from a Win95 or Win98 partition dedicated solely to audio/MIDI use. |
| PC MIDI card | A multi-client MIDI card is strongly recommended for use with C-Console VS-1680, but not sufficient for remote control of the VS-1680 transport. A dedicated ISA, PCI or (preferably) USB MIDI interface is strongly recommended for more than casual use of C-Console VS-1680. |
|
Monitor capable of 1024x768 display resolution and HiColor (16K or 32K colors) or TrueColor (24M colors) display depth; 4MB PCI or AGP graphics adapter |
17" monitor for comfortable 1024x768 viewing on a single monitor. Multiple monitors under Win98 or newer are highly recommended over a larger monitor at a higher resolution. |
