New tricks
for a not-so-old dog
Here's
an inexpensive way to add zero-latency, high-value power to the DS2416.
C-Console Multiband Compressor unlocks a unique application of the DSP
Factory dynamics processors...unique, but not "boutique".
This is a first-class, latency-free mastering and input processing effector
derived from unique configurations of DS2416 routings and channel assignments
to generate up to eight bands of tightly filtered compression or limiting
for each of up to two DS2416 cards...a whopping 16 bands of total compression
possible on a single track.
This
is a unique application that acts either as a stand-alone program or
as an added interface in C-Console DS2416 for applying multiband compression
or limiting to live inputs or recorded tracks. This is the power you've
been seeking from the DS2416 compression algorithms...true mastering-quality
compression with all the control you'll ever need for mixdown, the perfect
high-end tweak for those sibilant off-the-floor vocals, and a source
of totally new effects with the applyication of completely different
compression parameters to different frequency bands.
Mastering-quality
flexibility without the hassle
And because it's all done in hardware, there's no latency, no extra
CPU load, and no troublesome plugin configurations to deal with. It
integrates seamlessly with C-Console 2416, and works with one or both
cards. Signals can be fed through DS2416 WAV drivers or AX16/AX44/AX88
inputs to allow control over the signal at any point in the recording
and mixing process.
How
does it work? Using undocumented features of the DS2416 architecture,
C-Mexx' engineers managed to figure out how to route a signal in a way
that allowed the steep low, high and bandpass EQs in the DS2416 to feed
separate channels, each of which has their own dynamics processor.
You've
got an obvious need for multiband dynamics right now. You'll be amazed
at the extra creative possibilities you can uncover when you start exploring
its possibilities.
