C-Mexx Goes Underground AES Amsterdam...

well what can you say, if you've never been to Amsterdam in spring you are missing out on a lot of fun.
Once again, I got a round trip ticket for about $368 US...you just can't beat that. I see that Musik-Messe
will be in St. Petersburg during the "White Nights"...hmm now that sounds even more surreal than
Amsterdam! But seriously, it is totally a cool thing to witness such a tolerant society which seems to be
very at peace with itself and nobody is getting hurt, crime isn't everywhere...just stay away from the space
cakes...so they tell me… : ) I think the world should take a good long look at Amsterdam and rethink some
of their crazy drug war/puritanical mindsets. Life's too short...but enough of my babbling...: ) I know many
of you have been wondering why C-Mexx had been so silent in the past months...well, they are very busy
working in their secret underground lab on a very exciting new product. MIR (midi interactive remote)
www.mircontrol.com
will be released by the end of June. This little monster will solve a ton of your problems
when it comes to remote controlling all of your multimedia needs. Imagine walking on stage and controlling
your monitors eq and gain without having to run back to the sound board...Imagine walking around your venue
and controlling your room eq and channel delays...Imagine controlling your POD's deeper
parameters without the need for a computer software editor and furthermore utilizing the optional "Live-Line"
cable to gain an analog volume pedal and footswitch to map wah-wah and patch changes! Imagine controlling
your light show with the optional DMX conversion box! With 128k of onboard ram, you can load this bad boy up
with as many presets that you can think of...plus we will be offering a ton of them for free, downloadable of
the web. The software editor is going to be both PC/Mac compatible and is a really easy way to get all of your
sysex, cc's, nrpn & rpns, mmc and midi files into MIR. Just load them up, put it in your pocket and go to the gig...
it's that simple. The best thing about the MIR is that you can give all of those cryptic midi controllers & sysex
strings alias', meaning that you can give them "real world" terminology...just type it into the editor and your done.
Midi Remote Control has never been faster or easier...MIR, let the control revolution begin.

C-Console 1.4 Now Released!

New Features Include:

TCP/IP CONNECTIVITY- Imagine controlling your DS2416, 01V or VS1680 from anywhere in the universe! Includes Chat and works great with NetMeeting.
Great for Rocket Network, live setups, home studio network functionality or large facilities needing access to a common piece of gear! And with our
Midi Remote you can access ALL your MIDI gear through a LAN or WAN connection. This will REVOLUTIONIZE the recording world!

16 BANKS OF GROUPING- Most apps and hardware allow for Fader grouping but we have taken this to the next level. You can now group any Parameter
with any Parameter! Imagine grouping a Fader with a Pan. Group a Fader and an EQ Gain and Frequency to create an envelope filter or Wah??? It's all up to
your imagination and the Midi Remote functionality only makes things get even more interesting!!!!!!

CHANNEL LIBRARIES- At last your prayers are answered! YES! We now have the ability to Save channel settings. Now you can call up the exact Drum Mix
settings that took you hours to achieve in your last song and bring them right into your next song! Imagine the new level of continuity your recordings will take on.
This proves to be a big time saver when it comes to Mastering. No more inconsistent levels, eq, dyn and effect settings from song to song. Over time you will
eventually hit that perfect balance that you have been striving for years and be able to call it up at the push of a button!

COLORED METERS (STANDARD LED)- C-Console now has Standard Colored Meters! Keep in mind the main reason it took us so long to offer this was due to a difference in philosophy..the meters are not accurate. A digitalsignal does not distort at 0 ...it is still a perfect level..only when you exceed 0 does it bring about distortion. Most of the digital hardware out there today only transmits digital 0 (ala the DS2416 and 01V) via MIDI so there is really no way to accurately depict distortion. However, we too think it is a good idea to offer this Standard LED look as it fits in perfectly with the C-Console philosophy of a Standardized Virtual Analog Control Surface. Plus, we think it makes C-Console even elegant! By the way, our color coded meters are still there for your groups and routing...

FULL CM AUTOMATION MIDI REMOTE SUPPORT- Now you can really realize the power that CM Automation brings to the table! Now we offer Full Bank Support. This is a real winner with Dual DS2416 setups!

FULL 01V MIDI REMOTE SUPPORT- A perfect solution giving you access to all of the Fader, Pan, Aux, Bus and Effect Sends and Returns, all perfectly mirrored by the 01V control surface. We have found the answer to the missing MIDI Remote functionality through the Local OFF settings. It is incredibly easy too! This is available for download right now in our Recent Product Updates!

LARGE FADER VIEW- Great for using with apps that do not require the full DSP controls of the DS2416 or just fine tune your mix with a virtual zoom mode for the faders.

IMPROVED MIDI REMOTE FEATURES AND TUTORIALS- Enhanced usability and tips and tricks for designing you own Midi Remote Panel for that favorite piece of Midi gear...

IMPROVED CAKEWALK.CCS MIDI REMOTE- Accessing only controllers instead of Midi Channels to improve Midi Bandwidth.

01V LOCAL OFF MIDI REMOTE FOR DS2416

OK...Here it is...the Ultimate Midi Remote Control for the DS2416 via an 01V. All you need to do is put the 01V in LOCAL OFF and be at HOME (page 1) on the 01V....Connect C-Console's MIDI Remote to the 01V and load the 01V Midi Remote.ccs in C-Console of the DS2416 and away you go... Now the complete 01V control surface controls the DS2416! Go to Effect 1 on the 01V and move the effect send level on any channel in the DS2416. Channels 13/14 and 15/16 on the 01V become Active Parameters on all banks in the 01V (meaning that any thing you click on with your mouse can be controlled by the 13/14 Fader. 15/16 is Active Parameter 2 that allows you to control the EQ gain).....Option I/O controls Faders 17-24...Remote page 1 controls Bus 1-4 and Aux 1-6 Masters. It is like having two O1V's in one! If you have C-Console for the DS2416 and an 01V...you have to have this!

Helpfiles and documentation

Long-awaited helpfiles, DOCs and PDFs have arrived for C-Console DS2416 and C-Console 01V. We've also created a few multimedia tutorials to assist all new C-Console users with basic tasks and walk veterans through a few of the better tips, tricks and techniques.

NOTE: The helpfiles, DOCs and PDFs are to be considered draft documents. We've made every attempt to insure their accuracy and completeness, but they may not be entirely error-free just yet. They are, however, the most complete documentation we've created yet for these products, and in the case of the DS2416 manual and helpfile, we've had some users tell us they're the most complete documentation period for the DSP Factory card.

Cakewalk.ccs File

The long awaited Cakewalk.ccs file is here. Now you don't even need to worry about syncing software any more. Just choose our Cakewalk.ccs file and record all you Fader, Pan, and Mutes right into Cakewalk, or any other sequencer for that matter. It is still in Beta form but all seems fully functional. We are going to have another version out soon that will access only controllers on one midi channel, instead of multiple midi channels, to record your automation. Stay tuned...
